Who We Are


Nicola Gerrard
Artistic Director
Nicola is a highly experienced professional flautist, noted for her creative and innovative playing style and ability to communicate with her audience.
Having studied Music at Sheffield University she went on to complete her Masters degree including research and performance on the baroque flute, before training at the Royal Northern College of Music with Peter Lloyd and Rachel Brown. During her studies she won a number of prizes including the Mrs Stewart Blake Recital Prize.
Nicola has established a busy and successful career as a freelance flautist on both baroque and modern flute. She regularly performs on BBC Radio 4 as part of the Daily Service programme and has made numerous appearances on television. She has been first flute with the New English Orchestra since 1995, regularly touring with them to Salzburg during the world-famous International Music Festival and to Rome, and has contributed to several professional recordings by them. She plays baroque flute as a core member of Dei Gratia (a professional baroque ensemble), as well as giving her own solo recitals. She is a music examiner for London College of Music.


Hannah Gerrard
Professional Dancer

Hannah is a professional dancer specialising in ballet and contemporary. She trained in all dance genres at KSDance gaining the Trinity Level 6 Diploma and her teaching qualifications. After graduating she went on to complete a year contract with Ballet Do Douro in Portugal. Since then she has performed with Moen Sommerkoncert (Soundscape) in Denmark, Outside of the Box Productions, Heavenly Fire Dance Theatre, BD Art Company and is excited to be a founding member of Breath of Dance.
Hannah regularly dances with professional musicians at different concerts, events and festivals across the UK and abroad.


Emma Jackson

Resident Choreographer
​Emma has always loved to dance as a form of worship. She trained as a professional dancer at KS Dance, with her majors being ballet, contemporary, jazz and musical theatre. During this time she toured with Allegrodance Company performing lead roles, and she also danced as a principal in KS Dance's Production of La Sylphide.
Emma has a First Class BA (Hons) with Italia Conti specialising in choreography, which she now uses to teach at various dance schools, colleges and academies; and she is also the Worship Development Coordinator at West Kirby URC. Emma is excited to combine her love for dance and worship together with now having the opportunity to choreograph and generate new works for Breath of Dance. Sharing the gospel with all ages is really important to her just like inspiring people with her love of dance is. Emma is looking forward to having the opportunity to share Breath of Dance's works with you.
